CEO & Practice Lead

I served for 15 years as CEO and co-founder of Big Pink, one of the most innovative, awarded and successful independent digital healthcare agencies in the UK, leading a team of experts in creating and implementing some of the most impactful global digital healthcare campaigns for some of the biggest Rx brands in the pharmaceutical market.


I have been recognised as one of the most experienced practitioners of healthcare digital strategy development and implementation in the UK.



Background summary

After graduating with honours degrees in Biochemisty and Microbiology at Leeds University I worked in pharmaceutical companies for 10 years, following a classic pharma career path . 


During this time I won the prestigious Pharma Times 'Senior Marketer of the Year' award (2000) and ended my pharma career as the Global Marketing Manager for a major blockbuster launch.


Following a merger with Pfizer, I left the industry and, having recognised the future impact of digital in pharma, established Big Pink, which I quickly established as a boutique digital healthcare powerhouse in the UK, serving Global, regional and local markets. 


I sold Big Pink in 2018 and has since consulted at all levels, for both corporate and brand clients.


I am also an accomplished and entertaining speaker at healthcare events.



Selected highlights of experience


  • Played a pivotal role in establishing Pfizer’s first EUCAN (EU and Canadian) digital strategy and created and implemented an innovative ‘digital acceleration program’ to drive rapid uptake of this new approach.  


  • As part of this program I led a series of pan European educational webinars for Pfizer with in excess of 200 attendees per webinar and created a highly successful internal communication program to drive implementation and awareness of the strategy. 


  • I led the development and execution of Seretide’s global brand strategy (and tactics) as Agency of Record for 5 years, across 22 markets. Over this time, new GSK molecules were being launched, generic competition was arriving, and resources were being reassigned. 


  • I developed a new ‘digital only’ strategy and rolled it out globally for 22 markets with an accompanying multimedia communications program being successfully implemented, and new ways of working adopted throughout the respiratory franchise.
